Exhuast back box paint?

i know a few have painted the back boxes on the exhuast to tidy them up abit and to stop them rusting. I dont wana see any pictures (paul) but i would like to know what paint to use and how to use it.

Hycote VHT paint (just an example) - try Motorfactors, etc. shouldn't be difficult to find
