External Hard Drive for Mac question

I have an I mac which is now full up of movies and need to transfer them onto an external hard drive. I was thinking of buying the My Book Studio 3TB made by Western Digital as it uses the 800 firewire (£153 from amazon at the mo) My question is, I want to able to watch these films on a large screen tv one day when I move out. Is this possible by just using the hard drive, are there tv's out there at the moment that can do this? Does anyone do this or can help please....point me in the right direction. Thanks Adam

Depends on the tv but yes.

Just format the drive as MS-DOS and then it will work on Windows/Mac.
