External Hard Drive..questions

Basically i wanna put all my music on a external harddrive would like it to be just usb but mains isnt a problem.
if i did this and as i use itunes will all the music stay on itunes if i disconnect it?
what are the hds like which connect to a wireless router or are they shite?

anyone got these setup with itunes?

If you have your tunes in Itunes then when you unpug the drive, the playlist will still be in itunes but if you try and play it will give you a message saying it cant find the track.

NAS drives are good if you want to share them over a network.I find them useful to share between my PCs

Any good cheap hds about?dont think i need the wireless thingy would be nice, any recommendations?

I've just set up my WD 250Gb 'My Book' with iTunes and Windows media player, works a treat!

£65 from Amazon, well recommended!

If you import your songs to a library stored elsewhere, yes..
If you have import, move and manage music into the library options enabled, and the library is on the external drive.. and you unplug it, iTunes will not be happy

No, the tunes in itunes are essentially maps to the actual tunes on the HD.
