I always clock this dude on the same bit of road (by the kfc near abbs cross road) & he's always going the other way to me.

Same story, I clocked his car, he clocked mine both nodded etc. I need to sign this bloke up.

Me and Deb always see him driving about too, he always nods. He drove past Debs house while we were out cleaning it once and he slowed right down and gave us a big grin.

I think he lives in the Airfiled Estate, we drove past it once, will have to try and flyer him!

Wow, its amazing what you can find when your at work bored! haha that car used to be mine! I sold it back in 2011 due to finances, I couldn't deal with the 22-23mpg and a new set of tyres every 8K (due to loving a B road blast) and fancied something with a turbo, so I went out and bought a MK5 GTI. Looking back, part of me wishes I had kept it, nothing has put a smile on my face quite like my old 197 did, it used to brake better than anything I've driven since, would take corners better than anything I've driven since, it just seemed like it always wanted to be "driven" it didn't like pottering around town, the golf is fun and having to torque makes overtaking etc much easier but its most defiantly no where near as fun! In the new year I will be getting a company car so will be in a position to get something for the weekend, a return to the 197 is a definite possibility!

Just wondering by chance, I sold this car to a couple who lived in Norwich I believe, would be nice to know if she's still running so if the new owners are on here anywhere, drop me a line

Haha, kudos for posting up ages after you've sold it! & epic loitering! The 197's seem to have dropped a fair bit in price lately, so maybe you sold it at the right time. If you can back into a 197 I'll keep any eye out.
