f.a.o people with 2.0 valvers

when u did the conversion what did u do with the brakes e.t.c and what willy bits and what valver bits did you use

im putting a williams engine in

willy brakess are the same and totally up to the job IMO but will fade if pushed very hard, if not the the max torque group N discs abnd pads, they are cheap and good,



where you get the willy lump from mate? thye are rarer then hens teeth

i kno stumbled on it by accident went to local reno breakers for a foglight and theyd got a willy 3 that had just come in

so ive bought the engine and box its done 50k

the car was mint pre-accident as well

ive got the ecu an evrythin i assume its just a straight swap

yes if you have the ECU then it might well plug straight in but i know ECUs vary, my 16v is ealry and the williams engine is very late but then i used a chipped standard ECU, you know what im going to ask know? how much, be honest mate because you have done well to find one at all,

i stumbled upon mine in a similar way, will you have a spare gearbox avalible soon? or did you not get the box? did you get the loom? its unusuall for the engine to go complete with everything like that, you did well

but how much?

one of the reasons that swayed me to buy it (not that it took long to persuade meself) was that my box is knacked so it would have had to have come out anyway

its got the loom and everything with it its only just come out the car the guy said though a few bits of the loom might be slightly differant but there not sure, the willy is the same year as mine its costin me 800 quid ish but i probably gonna get a new clutch, cambelt and tensioners, and engine mounts before it goes in, thats fitted if they get my old engine and box back

it would have cost me about 500 to get the box done anyway so ive got a late willy engine with 50k for 300 quid really

they have still got most bits of the car if any1 wants em the wheels interior e.t.c

interior is mint but the wheels need tidying quite a bit of kerbing

think they wanted 350 for the interior it was mint though what i saw of it wheels werent in any better condition than urs jon not sure how much they wanted for them

the number is 01925 242242 if ya want to giv em a bell i wont be going down till my clutch comes nxt week, the clutch that ive not even ordered yet sh!t

well the willy motors goin in now so i can hav a proper look at the clutch cable hopefully ill be able to route it properly with the engine out so i might not need it yet but cheers anyway

it will be goin on the rollers as soon as its in to see what it does he he

How much do they charge for fitting the lump then, as im looking for somewhere to do my clutch, mounts and maybe a 2L bottom end

dunno really as the 800 is fitted cos there getin my old engine ud have to ring em for a quote but there quite reasonable

well its a bit more now cos there doin some other bits like me clutch and some other jobs that needed doin like me anti roll bar

yeh 800 fitted, they only had the one they had been looking for a willy to break for ages anyway, as you can imagine there quite rare, he could probably get you a megane bottom end though and if they did the work and kept ur bottom end i cant see it being big money, they are busy though my car wont be going in for about 2 weeks
