F**king Renault (criminals)

Just picked up my 02 plate 172 on saturday only to find its a f**king dutch import. Purchased it from Ilkeston co-op (Renault Dealers named and shamed) The salesman assured us it was a UK car and went on to say that it had 2 years warrenty left and AA breakdown cover. However when we got the car home the handbook was in Dutch, the label inside the filler cap is in foreign. So i imediatley phoned Renault HQ to give them the REG and its defo according to them an import. w**kers at the dealers are now disputing this coz they have a copy of the vin plate from i assume the V5 which when checked out says its a uk car they go on to say that they dont deal in imports Yet when i asked them for the VIN No. its not the same. The No. is different by one digit. They now want to inspect the car but i think they are gonna try and pull a fast one. Dont want to get the police involed althought its fraud if the log book dont match the car. The police may collect the car and leave us chasing up a refund. Any ideas people anyone else been scuppered by this tactic.

Id say get in touch with your local trading standards now mate, you have been mis-sold a car, and that should entitle you to clear the deal, give the car back and get your hard earned cash back mate, but take advice from trading standards, they also will keep the details on record in case they try and pull the same scam again or theyll know if its happened before.

Yeah chears roamer tried the trading standards but busy, also citizens advise but they arent available to comment today either. They did say however that because the vehicle differs from the description when sold that it is for the trading standards to advise. However i think its a case for criminal investigation because the car is not the same as the log book. Hence we dont know the vehicles history and its fraud!

Mate, i would go down to your local cop shop tonight and get their opinion, they will be used to checking docs and should be able to assist you

Best of luck.

Haydn Road or another dealership. If its Nottingham Trading Standards good luck.

When I complained to them the person dealing with me worked part time and was extremley busy, bascially more excuses than Renault. Also they said that they cant really help as the car cost so much, as you have to go to higher court. I work in Local Government and Ive never heard some much <A target=_blank href= "mailto:sh@te">sh@te excuses made. Myron waste off space and is Adele, if you see her send her my love and thank her for getting back to me!! (should have phoned me back 4 weeks ago).

Anyway just getting my hands on a Focus RS so bye bye Renualt never ever going anywhere near your nightmare ever again. PS any one want my car as its for sale now;)
