Right well ive just looked at pictures and the oil returb is on the other side of the block on the 4R, so i am going to get the 172 head machined for a dizzy, then run the williams managment, and scrap the vvt. either that or...

Does the 172 managment Need the uch to run? or can i strip down the 172 loom and cut out the bits i dont need, i.e the uch, and just have the engine ecu to run the engine, i know ive got to tackle the immobiliser, but thats not a problem, but the uch does concern me.

Why the willy ECU? whats the point, run the 172 ecu.

You'll have issues getting the correct distribution off of correct cam since the inlet has VVT on it, and the ex doesnt have the correct alignment for the rear slot, although i have tried and it does fit with very minor work.

yea, i was planning to do it in a weekend or so get the 172 lump in and running.

I will go down the route of using the 172 ecu, just need clarification of the uch being needed for the engine or not.

you dont need it if your not running the 172 dash, you can just use the ECU to run the engine.

Depend if you using the phase 1 or two the phase 2 needs the UCH. Idealy stip your loom down.
