failed mot!

so, my car failed its mot today.

needs a new tyre which is easily done, but the offside front suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint, is this easily fixed? and how much would it cost?

also the front brakes are imbalanced, how do i go about fixing this?

there also seems to be alot of oil around the passengar side front brake, all around the velocity joint and on the inside of the wheel and everywhere! could something have split?

That sounds similar to what happened when my cv boot went.

just had a look and the gaiter has a massive split in it, would this be why there is loads of oil everywhere?

only a quick fix, £10 for the ball joint, gaiter about a £5er, can get the garage to do everything for about £40
