Fallout 3

Guess I'll flip a coin between The Pitt and Point Lookout then. Looking at both maps there seems to be more to explore in The Pitt even though it's smaller. Point Lookout just looks like mostly swamp, or is that interesting?

^ Agreed. But the storyline way of getting the armour is pretty f*cking cool.

Power armour training or the T51b Armour ("You gotta shoot 'em in the head")?

In both cases, that's all fine for the first playthrough, but once the surprise is gone, it's a null point. Straight into Anchorage, straight out with a gauss gun, T51b armour, a gattling laser and that shocksword. Suddenly nothing can touch you... until you end up in The Pitt and realise your END of 2 wasn't the best idea

there's plenty to get going with on PL, you just have to find it, it's not forced onto you... in The Pitt, if you dont want to follow the stroyline, you cant actually go anywhere

Read all the wikia stuff before, just thought I'd get the views here. I think Point Lookout then just for the redneck vibe.

Just encountered the feral ghoul reavers. They are hard as f**k. Even with the Terrible shotgun in the face. So glad I still have Fawkes with me.

I've just re-read this thread in preparation for New Vegas.

Brings back memories. Mainly of how utterly huge and detailed this game actually is. Awesome.

I've come to the end of the Broken Steel DLC and just come out on to the roof of the Enclave crawler. I hate those f**king napalm flame throwers.

It's so easy to waste hours playing this. I've finished Broken Steel but have just found myself wandering around again, discovering new places and killing s**t. I really thought I had found most but there seems to be quite a few undiscovered areas on the map. Sure they weren't there before. Bang another 5 hours gone. FNV is going to be a f**king time vampire.

Bought this yesterday. Really don't see what the fuss is about. Ended up going back to playing Forza.

I would now like to completely refute this statement. Fallout 3 rocks. Only picked it back up to start playing it before xmas, it's brilliant.

Holy Thread Revival Batman!

I started this last week because I'm a masochist! Flying through it though it seems, must hate myself because I travelled to Old Olney and immediately regretted it.

PS5 stream, gameplay is fine, no stutters. However, no DLC, its just vanilla FO3. I'm enjoying it though. Not bad for 18 years old.

18 years ago! f**k meeeeee

I remember skiving off school to play this as it was always released a day or two early from shopto.net if anyone remembers it?

Anticipated the delivery date, skived off whilst everyone was out and waited at the letterbox like a dog for the postman to deliver it snatching it out of his hands.

Then starting running around the empty house screaming "IM ON SHROOOOOOMS" swinging it in the air. (lonely island if anyone also remembers them 😂😂)

Was so f**king kiddy and fired it up for my SISTER to walk into my room saying what the hell are you doing? She was off school genuinely sick and I didn't realise 😂😂😂😂😂

Did not go down well. Great game though absolutely loved it so much

They really need to get their s**t together and remaster New Vegas.
Loved Fallout 3. But couldn't get into New Vegas at all for some reason?

I think I was expecting something completely new and it simply felt like a DLC expansion for the little time I played.

Just checked.... yep, didn't stick with it!

I loved Vegas, agree it kind of was like a massive expansion, but then i think you look at Fallout as a whole, not much changes, that has been my gripe for ages, same enemies, similar story lines, Fallout London was a nice change.

I don't mind the lack of change really - probably because I was a big fan of Fallout's precursor - that of the Wasteland series.

It's always been a bleak, post-nuclear, mid-West setting for me - but it does run the risk of coming across as being a bit samey.

Ohh i think that's exactly how it needs to be, my gripe is the lack of different enemies, mirelurks, ghouls, mutants, death claws, rinse and repeat, i just wish they had mixed it up a bit, surely it's not too much work to put a few new enemies in?

Don't get me wrong, it's still probably my favourite game, and probably always will be, but imo it now needs a new lease of life.
