False floor install

  Clio 1.2
Hi all, recently finished of my flase floor. Not the most amazing equipment but it works well for a budget install. I also plan to upgrade it in the future which is the reason for the massive cables.

So this is how it was. Originally used Fubars guide which worked well but when I want to add a subwoofer I thought it would be better to build a false floor.

And how it is now....

Very nice. I'm gonna do this myself. Do you still have access to the spare wheel?

Yeah mate. Once I had cut out the base I cut it in half so it can be easily lifted out. As for the top bit I did the same but put hinges down the middle so that it just folds out.

There is a guide on here about how to do it. But basically you fasten some wood to the inside of the seat to give you something to screw on to.

Edit. It doesnt seem to be on here, it was done by Fubar.

i really need to sort my install out, roll on the summer and i'll sort it lol!

same!!

Really like the amp attached to the back of the seat.. tried to do it before but didnt realise you had to put wood in lol

Im presuming itll have to be kinda thin wood? so that the comfort isnt lost in the back seats?

might give it a bash over the weekend!

Just back from Homebase there lol got an offcut of wood perfect thickness for 50p lol bargin.

Does anyone have a copy of Fubars guide, his site seems to be down :(?

pm him and i think he'll send you a copy of it.

its real simple though, unzip the backing of the seat, get a piece of mdf bigger than your amp, lay it over the wire on the back of the seat, mark where the wire crosses on the mdf by drawing lines across it where the wire goes underneath the mdf, then drill two holes either side diagonally of where the lines cross on the wood then basically put zip ties through the holes in the wood and under and back up over the wire then tie them off and hey presto the wood is attached to the seat, then just pull the cover back over and zip it up and then screw your amp to it.

hope that made some sense ;)
