How many speakers are in the car, is it - 2 at the back, 1 each in the doors and 2 in the front dash?

there are 6 in total like you said.

The ones in the doors and the ones in the back are 13cm. the ones in the dash are small tweeters.

Ya, plus they are pretty good with a decent headunit..... well for cardboard speakers anyway! I had them for like a year till i deceded to upgrade.

I fitted a set of coaxles in the front of mine so do i now need to remove the tweeters in the dash or can they stay?

You probably wont be able to hear the tweeters over some decent co-axials, so you might as well leave them in. If you do take them out make sure you dont for any reason cut the connector off because the cables for your main speakers run from the tweeter connectors..............if that makes sense!
