FAO 182 Special Edition fans

Heres what you do:

Go to the dealer and let them tell you about how special this model is. Listen to what they have to say and pay perticular attention to anything like, "Theyre only building 500 of these...", "special edition" and, "Theres no way we can discount these as they are in such demand and they are so rare."

Now all you do is wait. DO NOT pay £14,995 or what ever the price of this "SPECIAL EDITION" is.

Wait 1 year and then read the Renault press release which will go something along the lines of, "Due to the popularity of this car, Renault has decided to continue the production and make 10,000 of these cars."

Now you just wait a little longer for Renault to jump on the bandwagen and produce a 200bhp+ hot hatch (lets call it the Clio 202) and then there will be several hundred pre-registered but brand new 182 special editions knocking around the dealers going for a little over £10,000.



How do I know - because thats exectly what happened to me and my full retail, September 2002, "Special edition" Cup.

same goes for any car m8 if you want the latest model you pay for it, then discover 6 months down the line that its worth f**k all trade in and you can buy them new for 20% less than you paid!

My 1st Cup was one of the very 1st. It was on a 52 plate and I got mid September 2002. At the time I was told "500" and "only a handfull per dealer"

Saying that, it didnt stop me buying another one 6 months ago!

I drove one of the very first 172 Cups over 2 years ago now (was my mates) and at the time we were told there were only going to be 500 made...

Well, they only built 300 Ragnottis for all of France!

And it is even lighter than the Cup! No rear wiper! Or weighty badges for that matter...

Yea mine was mid-September 2002.

Ive never regretted buying the Cup as soon as I did, but its just a little anoying to see the cars going so cheap now

i thought the idea of buying a car now is coz you want it now, not in 12 months time.

if you want it now i suppose ya have to pay, but can still haggle a little...
