and yeah, people use macs these days more and more, theyve kinda gone full circle and seem to becoming more popular every day.
i bought my first mac this year - needed a laptop and i dont like vista and didnt want to hack about with osx to run on non-apple machine and love it

on a mac you con constantly ping multiple ip's and keep log
but tbh i always revert back to my pc, having a mac helps now and again

Incorrect.
You can do quite a bit more a lot more efficiently in OSX, but it depends on what/how you use a computer.
For example,
Ruby on Rails development for example is a million times better.. due to the terminals, good support and TextMate.
So........... I guess it depends on your use

Well, I haven't come across anything in my life so far where i've thought "Oh Damn, I need a Mac"
Surely Mac users must always think to themselves "Oh crap, this won't run on mac, wheres my PC?" a LOT more?
I bought a new laptop recently, and I had a butchers at macbooks and to get one similar spec to what I purchased in the end would be over £1700! (just over double) and that still wouldn't include blu ray or a decent size screen etc.
But if others find it better for their needs then so be it :boring:

It's not about "What's better" it's about "What works better for me"
I can do Ruby on Rails development in Windows - it's awful, but it's possible.
Same with web development.. it's just "better for me" in OSX.
Lots of things are better in OSX - sure, you can do them in Windows, Linux, whatever, but it's just not as polished at a lot of things I do.
It's all about what works BEST at a particular job.. and a lot of the things I do now are better on Mac for me - Fact.
I use Windows as much as I use OSX though.. as I use it all day at work. Why? Because the work I do, it's better on Windows.
And the price issue.. meh.. not again

Ive opened up a can of worms havent i.
Id never buy a mac because i wouldnt want to waste my money on something that is practically useless.
