FAO Carbon copy - discussion on cable vs. Fly By Wire Throttle

  FF 182, K5 GSX-R1000
Cable is far far better in my experience. Couldnt live without the CC on my daily drive tho :(

The 1.2 has the same problem, the mk2ph1s were better because they were cable. I know a driving instructor that purposely bought a mkph1 because people kept stalling the ph2 as it was unresponsive. The throttle is also too light to know exactly if your pressing down on it and by how much.

I stalled the Ph-Q 3 times because of the stupid cable  lol

Your not alone, I stalled the Ph-Q I test drove too, agree with the others though the cable throttle didn't feel alot more direct and connected than the fbw.

  53 Clio's & counting
i think cables better, all the vw's i driva at work now have fbw and god its so annoying,i mean a new r32 is supposed to be good to drive but i hate flooring the throttle and not feeling it 'do' anything if that makes sense?

tbh, thats more likley to be do with the clutch as opposed the acellerator...

I stalled my mk2 172 driving it of the forecourt when i collected it.. it had FBW.

The thread was a joke anyhow....

Clutch 100%

I found it very 'snappy' when i first got mine, stalled for a good week or two

Made a mistake in the above the cable throttle did feel more direct and connected.

May have been a combination of the clutch and the fact that I was shitting myself about bumping it and was quite intimidated at first temporarily forgetting how to drive!

I have test drove a few ph-quicks and i have to say the acceleater pedal is very stiff and not smooth which is not the case in my ph2ph1 1.2 Is this the case with all ph-quicks?I know this is nothing to do with how responsive it is etc.

yep thats for sure, it is more stiff, but like driving any car with different setups you adapt. A lot of that is all about how many cars you have driven... (for me thats not an issue:eek:)

Best thing is everyone talks about how little difference .1 or whatever there is between a Cup and a ff..yet there is apparently a big difference when we are talking about .001 of a sec between a cable moving and an ecu reacting?
