FAO of Fred, are they taking the piss

well i can tell they are taking the piss really, got my apex 40mm springs ready to be fitted, decided im to much of a numpty to fit them myself so asked at local garages, one said £160, other said £100 other said £80, they taking the piss right? especially the £160 one, and to top it all off they all thought that i only need 2 springs............wtf?? at this rate it will be cheaper to pay the petrol and go and see fred and pay him................

follow the guide on here mate! ive got 2 left hands as well and it only took 3hours to lower mine wiv 40mm apex springs!!!

also, most garages will ask around the ton mark to do it!

can anyone paste me the guide or email me it, its gonna cost more to fit them than it cost to buy them, maybe i could have a go if i could pin a guy i know down thats acctually mechanicly minded.....guide pls i know im not a full memeber ....yet

Lol...

If youre going to spend money on getting them fitted, you might as well spend the money on tools, and have something to show for it too.

There are plenty of people on here who are more than willing to help.

National tyres did mine for £50 and that was with 4 siezed locking nuts Give them a bell

The one that quoted for 2 probably though you had an old clio with the torsin bar

cheers ill give them a call, yep everyone did think i was on torsion bars even though i told them more than once what the car was and the year.....i mean it doesnt give u much confidence in them does it :confused:
 


Probably just as well...

If youre on a "cruise" site, there can be company directories that you can have a look for when trying to find a good mechanic, that might be an idea.

"cruise" such an evil word to me lol, but might go in undercover with a burbury hat and get the info............no offence to people who "cruise" (that sounds so dodgy lol)
 


LOL, the cruise site I go on (Edinburgh) seems to be a lot of old skool croozers who have now grown up and do trackdays and quarter miling, cant be a bad thing IMO.

thats ok then, when u say cruise, all i see in my head is a batterd saxo with 4 lads 2 girls and a baby in it, lowerd 100mm on the back dustbin for an exhaust, stooopid noise, and then have the cheek to try and race me.......chavs

Garage quoted me £100 today to fit my Eibach Pros, No Chance. Fellow CS members are going to give me a hand soon but ill give National tyres a bell anyway

Must be missing that then , or do you have to register to access the full site these days - keep having a look but theres only about 3 topics these days
