did email you bout a price on a 1.8 rsi conversion for my 1.2, but i didnt recieve a reply. I have since sent another with no reply? Jus want to check u did/didnt get my emails
sent em both earlier in the week mate. wanted to pick up an engine from a 1.8 rsi and dump it in my 1.2 as its too f*ckin slow!! i was gonna sort my body kit and all the bits i wanted and then dump the 1.8 in it wen im finished, jus tryin to price it all up!!
they sed a 1.4 was £400 supplied and fitted so i know itll b more jus wanna know exactly so i can save!! do insuranc ecompanies charge more for a transplant into a car than a standard rsi?
1.4 supplied and fitted, so in the 400 your gettin the lump, if your supplying the lump and box then that price may not be to far off. But i dont know, so ill shut up.
paul robo - the quote was a 1.4 supplied and fitted for £400 quid so im thinkin add uprated braskes and gearbox and we r now lookin at maybe 700/800 poss 900 quid? Im not any type of expert im purely guessin!!
And for smile on face factor get a GTT conversion! Im driving a GT Turbo at the minute (the mighty red shed) with the intent of taking having the transplant done to my Clio. If you have a 2 stage boost controller then the GT Turbo even wins on economy as you can set your lower boost at something daft like 3psi LOL
In standard tune (which is never), a GT Turbo is about the same as a 16v - giving to the 16v at speed, but taking on the traffic light grand prix (torque/power delivery). But where it really wins is in tuning. For every pound spent on getting an extra 1bhp out of the F7P 16v lump, youll get 3+bhp out of the GT Turbo (thats generalising).
If you dont have a Valver, then the GT Turbo route is cheap and effective. Its also a very cost-effetive way of getting turbo power into the 16v shell if that floats your boat (NA and TBs for me).
thanks for the help lads, the only thing that im concerned bout with the gtt lump is that iv heard they r reliable, and im concerned in swappin a 43000 mile lump for an older lump with more mileage?
