is it possible for you to post a picture of your alternator and wiring?

i have fitted a Williams alternator to my 16v and i need to wire the old plug up to the new connections as they are different.

:S um have'nt got a pic but a valver and williams alt should be the same, i fitted a valver alt to my 2.0l and it plugged straight in.

the old alternator had a black earth and a plug.

the new alternator fits in perfectly, but has an earth and two bolt/nut prongs like the earth does :s

confusing.

Think I had one like that. I put the wire onto the prong nearest the front of the car IIRC.

the akternator is earthed through the body, the postive feed si the 10mm nut stud. The other stud is for the earthing via wire for those that have the alt on rubber miounts where it can;t earth itself properly.
