Fast idle and hunting after engine replacement????

I ve just fitted a low milage engine to replace mine that lost compression on one cylinder and now the car is idling at fast idle speed (1200rpm) and hunting even when up to water temperature. I ve put the Solus scanner on it and its not coming up with any fault codes.

Could this be related to the air feed pipe from the valves on the nearside inner wing to the airbox being missing as i damaged it during removal

you blocked the vacc line going to the plenum?(just infront of the throttle body, to the left)

No I havent mate. I figured the valve would be blocking that in a default setting. I will block it tommorrow and see if that cures it untill the replacement cold air pipe arrives

most people throw the valve in the bin and simply block the vaccum pipe
