Faulty wash mechanism

  Clio Sport 172
Hi,

New to Clios and this forum and looking for some advice.

02 plate 172 Sport - faulty windscreen washing mechanism, is this common?
We think the pump is at fault and want to swop it with a known good unit. In order to get to it I need to remove the windscreen wiper arms.

I have removed the nut on the wiper arm, but it will not budge. Spoke to local garage and they said you need a special tool.

So does anyone know what the tool is and can I get one/borrow one from somewhere - garage wont loan it or help without charging.

Also is it common for the headlight washers to leak - anyone know a fix?

Thanks.

  Shhh
You can get the motor out without removing the wiper arm, just get the plastic, remove the clips, the rubber across the back of the engine bay and lift the plastic up, really tight if you have small hands, can get it out, then easy peasy..

Just dont lose the little insert into the washer bottle. I did the ex's on her clio, £5 from scrappy for a replacement and job done..

See how it goes, if you can get it out then your laughing, if not..oh well, wiper arm is coming off but remember to mark it up where it come from as it will never be the same again.
