Fcuk!! not a good day :(

Ok, the story starts with how im off to Brands hatch on monday for the RenaultSport trackday. So you can imagine my feeling when im driving along and hear a bang....

... pull over and inspect the car all over, nothing to be seen. So i carry on to the missus' house, only to come out later to find my front nearside tyre flat. This little b*****d was the culprit

ok, this isnt so bad i thought, ive got a brand new alloy in the boot wearing a brand new GS-D3 to match the rest. So i proceed to fit the pristine, unused in 5 years, spare (cringes). Bugger! GS-D3's are radial tyres, and it just happens that the one on the spare is the wrong way round for the nearside. I fitted it anyway with the tread pattern the wrong way round, and filled with air.

anyone know what concequences i could have by fitting the tyre the wrong way round for a couple of days? just the handling in the wet i guess?

I also put more air in the front offside... only to find a split in the sidewall in that tyre too!! :dead:

So back to the Brands Hatch issue... i now need 2 new tyres fitted and balanced before the weekend. I phoned up mytyres and they couldnt help before the weekend. All the local tyre places are out of stock and need to be ordered! :dapprove:

One place reckons they could get me some for friday and fit them immediately for £52.50 each (good price i thought), however im working fri, sat and sun.... brands is on the monday!

Sooo.... err, yeah thats my day!

Not sure you'll find a tyre you need, but they did a search around and couldn't find a cheaper place, and what's more they come to you!

I had nothing but s**t of etyres. Very bad. First they told me they could fit the same day, then when I come to pay they couldn't. Tyre comes next day and is supposedly going to be fitted at 9am. Get a call at 11 saying the wrong tyre would be sent, that they have to wait till tomorrow for the right one. I say no good and for them to come out and fit the wrong one (it was only the wrong speed rating) They say I will have to pay extra as the tyre costs more. I say I'm not paying another penny.

Says he will be there at 3pm to fit my tyre. I ended up waiting by my car till 7pm for the stupid wanker b*****d faced s**t git mobile fitter to turn up. First thing he said was 'I'm doing you a favour here' No your f**king not! f**king 10 hours too f**king late!


I sent them an email of complaint, never got a reply. Can't be arsed ringing them up but I think that I will do shortly. Pisses me of even thinking about it.

Might be a bad tyre fitter, etyres don't actually fit the tyres, they just organise it. The guys in my office were well chuffed. Gordons Tyres did their tyres, arrived the next day as promised at around the time promised. Sorted within the hour.

Yeah, I had some people round called dustcap.co.uk, think they were the shitters. But it was definately etyres who cocked the order on the wrong tyre.
