Are all the mounts made of cheese?

Does the exhaust fall off?

Can the gearbox actually handle some abuse?

What seems to be the most common warranty claim?

I wouldn't mind if it's under warranty.

Maybe it was the gearbox's before the revised 5th and 6th gears?

try and get one with the revised ratio's

apparently much better. Hard to tell from the flesh though, so expect dealers not to know except those who actually know what there talking about.

Had mine a month now. touch wood seems fine. Exhaust is mint, sounds awesome, not heard any failures yet. Gearbox is fine too, nice short throw, very positive action, although i've found it taking a bit of getting used to, as the gates are closer together than the JC5 box. The thing that i really like about them is they feel solid. New age Renaults feel alot better screwed together, and i have no issues with mine. Also a 100% better seating posision!!!!

^^ Thats the prob i have with mine, it just feels whenever you use anything it will fall off/fail.

Might have to go take one for a test drive, gonna buy something else in 4-5ish months i reckon.

Yep! If i needed to free up some ££, the only mk2 i'd have again would be a 172 Cup or 182 Trophy. Wouldn't bother with the others, not special enough. I think its also why people think the 197 is slow, its just nore refined, especially further up the rev range, less gruff and boomy
