Few questions - help appreciated.

Just bought a 172 in good condition 78k miles ph2 2002.

My questions are:

1. a droning / whirring noise is occurring when above 55 mph from the front you can kinda feel it too, would this be the drive shaft / wheel bearing?

2. The front headlight is faded at the top, i've read on here something about a repair kit? do they work or is it better to buy a new headlight?

3. Where's the best place to source some cup/trophy wheels?

1) Droning could be a number of things. Does it increase with engine revs or is it related to speed? Does it happen when in gear?

2) Get a 3m kit, there are loads of reviews on here. One in the guides section and several thousand on youtube. 3m do a kit and so do meguires. It is also possible to use high grit paper as shown in a guide.

3) For sale section, you will need to get the correct offset. Sort the noise before you start making it look good. Its like a p**n star, can look great but it all broken underneath. That's no good.

Appreciate the time spent for the replies to all questions

1) I have popped the clutch down and also placed it in neutral when moving and the noise still stays, the noise starts around 30mph then gets very noticeable at 55-70mph a constant drone sound.

2) I'll have a closer look into the 3m kit then and give it a go thanks

3) Good point, i'll have it looked over at weekend by my workshop before spending any amount of money on the looks.
