Fiesta Rs v Clio 182

What do you guys think ?

Ok so its going to be a while before this car is in production but the signs are that its going to be a tidy car.Similar in many ways to the 182 and roughly the same (Expected) power.

According to most reviewers the 182 has the throne at the moment and in the short term thats the way its going to stay.There will be other contenders but lets stick with this for now..is it going to dethrone the 182 or will it fall short ? Will it make the 182 look outdated when it arrives ?

i think the styling looks brill on the RS from the concept pics, and also the 182 will have been out a while, so it will be the new kid on the block wont it.

dunno if it will beat it on power though. wait n see

The fiesta St due out this year is coming in at 150 bhp so the Rs is going to be at least 180 or its not worth it.The 182 would of been around a while yes but that doesnt mean its going to be put in its place.Its going to take a special car to do this,the current competition just falls short and there are some good cars competing.

As good as it looks potentially its still a Ford and i think the flared wheel arches try to hard and border being tacky.It looks like a boy racers car with the massive wheels and bodykit but i think its a bit much.Ok if you like that sort of thing i suppose but its gonna sell loads like the old Xr2/xr3 no doubt but that takes away the fun.Ooooo look ANOTHER Rs..Yawn yawn yawn.This cant happen with the 182 because its the end of the line..172/cup/182 owners have the understated "Ill race if I choose" look about them where as the Rs Fiesta has the look of "RACE ME NOW..PUT UP YER DUKES AND FUGHT"...not sure if that would bore me longterm..

The RS probably wont be out for up to 2 years so will the 182 still have the "throne" then anyway? I dont know when its due but the next shape Clio will be out be then I think.

yeh i see where your coming from. still think id take a 182, like you said, understated styling, but still looks mean. the RS is a boyracer car, the 182 is more of a sports car.

but then again, how many kids with their burberry hats and baggy trousers are gunna be able to stump up for an RS then insure it?

its not one for the older people who can afford it, whereas the 182 is

Alot of people like the in ya face stuff.



Thing is they need to do some wieght reduction for it to be on par with the 182 or have a more powerfull engine circa 200bhp

If the Fiesta RS is going to be anything like the Focus RS, Ford arent going to build that many of them. Meaning all those boy racers wont be driving them because:

1. Theres no chance any 17 yr old will get the money for one (i think about 14K if i read correctly!)

2. No insurance company in their right mind is going to insure them

IMO there are going to be more of the STs going around, but even then there still around the 12k marker and theyve got a 2.0 Duratec Engine knockon out 150BHP, which means again its a bit steep for the boy racers!

Until its made offical its hard to say, the RS fiesta is still a concept. Does any one know the kerb weight of the Fiesta ST150? Based on my experience saturday with a 182, id say the Fiesta will come out on top. (by far)
