fiesta st/172 cup??

has any 1 on here raced a fiesta st with there cup??? and how did u get on????

the 172 cup or any of the Renaultsport Clios are all significantly faster than the ST, there over a sec quicker to 60 and about 4 secs quicker to the ton

A 172 Cup should blow the ST away to be honest. The ST has a significantly lower BHP per tonne figure, and as said above is a fair bit slower to 100mph.

when i first got my 182 i took it to where i used to work and a lad who started there had an st and was looking over it, i knew from the way he was looking at it thought his was better/faster but didnt want to say anything!

a young lad at works got one he couldnt stay anywhere near me on the back road too work and i drive a full fat 182 there only 150bhp and they weigh more

The std exhausts are w**k on the st,with a new one plus a manifold power is upto 170 bhp for less than £600.Still rather have the cup though

They're easily tunable to over 200bhp, but in standard trim, they wouldn't have a chance. I test drove one before i bought my 182, and its did move more in lower revs, but didn't have much top end...whereas the clio keeps going..

I wouldn' say the ST is s**t. In fact, considering how much time you spend inside the car - Id say it has a nicer interior than the Clio.

^^^ I hate the centre console. It look so crap. It kinda reminds me of a face. 2 air vents act as eyes, the hazad lights as the nose, and head unit as the mouth. I couldn't help but think it when i was driving. Looks gash!

Some get a pic, and you'll see what i mean. In all fairness, the seats are nice.

The ST isn't sh*t, just not a 'hot hatch' - More of a 'warm hatch'...

ST is a very nice car, mate just got one in white, looks gorgeous.

Ok it's not quite 172 / 182 pace, but it's a 2.0 engine in a relatively small car, it's bound to be fun and upset quite a lot of the rep mobiles.

There's been reviews on these and the general vibe is that they are poor. The gear box is horrid apparantly, you have to constantly floor it to get anywhere fast and it's vastly overweight and underpowered.

It should have been at least 170-180bhp as standard to be able to compete with the Clio. Ford dropped a b*llock.

They are off the pace a little yes. They are supposed to handle alright, although I've heard off people who've driven them and they don't half have some body roll.

But I wouldn't say they are "s***e"
