I have finally fitted the 172 seats that i bought earlier this week.
as you know DCi seats have side airbags built in and 172 seats dont.
I looked on here for the guide to fitting the resistor to keep the air bag light off and it has worked a treat.
I got a 3.3 Ohm resistor from Maplins (15p each) stuck it in the corrosponding pin holes, turned the ignition on and Hey presto, no air bag light!
the only bit i didnt take into account was having to strip down the seat belt buckle to fit the sensor for the dash light, easy to do.
the only bit that didnt work and i had to bodge was a square sensor underneath the gas cyliner for the pre tensioner - on the DCi seat is was pop rivited on, i had to break it off and fit it to the 172 seat using a zip tie, i have no idea what it was for, also it was only on the driver side.
I read on here people had fitted the resistors and the air bag light was still on, i think this was because they may have turned the igniton on half way through, or done it with the ignition on (i.e. listening to the radio while fitting the seats) - i fitted all mine and then turned the ignition on and it worked fine.
