Fintray Hillclimb

I went to Fintray Hillclimb today in Aberdeenshire. I took some very poor pics and videos on a go pro and iPhone but I thought I would share them, some really nice bits of kit including the nicest Hillman Imp and a compound charged Evo with a carbon fibre body and interior that I forgot to get pics of the outside.

Hillman Imp, full space frame chassis.

Looks like a cracking day!

Thats Imp is awesome! I remember watching them (among other things) at Ingliston years ago when the original grandstand was still there, the noise as they screamed round arena was unbelievable.

Clio looks fairly lively, did you find out what power it had?

Aye sun was out for a change.

Yeah I would safely say that Imp had nothing resembling a standard part left on it, was more like a formula car underneath.

I did mean to ask the guy before we left but be never got the chance, I'm sure it was for sale on PH a while back and had a Gripper diff and ktec bodies, its times were matching well sorted Evo's which was surprising as fintray needs torque.

Nice pics, I went to my first Hillclimb event on Sunday, at Gurston Down nr. Salisbury. Really enjoyed it, more than I thought I would.

It was mostly single seaters and Caterham/Westfields at Gurston on Sunday though. There were a few 'normal' cars there, a lovely MG Metro 6R4 and a Evo-powered Puma we're my highlights

Gurston down is one of the best IMO, a lot longer than Fintray.

That Puma is a weapon, the guy that built it has had many nice cars.
