First Car! (NO 56K)

First Car! Had it since august, but passed my test in november, only just saved the pennies to by a car tho!

Got a 96 Clio 1.4 RT totally standard (except mp3 headunit and 10 cd changer).... phase 3 unfortunatly, soon to get rid of fugly lights and replace bonnet. Done 75k and all the electric bits an bobs the rt has, i.e e/windows, e/sunroof, e/mirrors, r/c/l, immobiliser. Vgc no dents or rust.

Just startin new job with british gas, so when thats all sorted plan this is what i plan to do:

Halcyon 15" alloys (due end of month)

Phase 2 Bonnet and headlights (ready to pick up)
Cat back s/s exhaust
Coilovers on front and torsion bar lowered to suit, approx 60 all round
laguna splitter
Tints
Panel filter
16v interior (already got steering wheel)

Then i will leave it as i dont wanna make it look chav.

Pics are a bit sh*t as off my phone but its dark metalic grey.

very tidy mate, my only addition to you're list of things to do would be some smoked or clear side repeaters and some silvervision bulbs, makes such a difference!

regretting selling my coilovers now, really should have been bothered to fit the fookers!

Nice car to start off with. I wouldnt go OTT with the mods though as your want something else soon enough

Good luck with the headlight conversion.

Do you realise that your headlight adjuster won't work on the Ph 1/2 headlights (MOT problem?), and you'll have a gap in between the bottom of the light and your bumper...

I tried it in my old Ph3, and gave up LOL

Thanks mate, yea agree with you there. would it be worth buying smoked side repeaters, or spraying standard ones, think ive got some tinting spray lieing about.

cheers, yea i plan to leave it finished after all the above is done, so i can take it back to semi standard when i sell it. want to keep it for about a year tho. wait till payrise and try find a good 16v.

Ive seen enough done dont think it will be that much of a problem, not really too bothered about the headlight adjuster as i hardly ever touch it anyway. I'll keep all original bits as if its a MOT failure i can put it back to standard. And as for the bumper im sure i could sort something out about the gap.

depends how handy you are with the spray, buying new smoked ones are only about 8-10 quid and would be the same degree of tint on both, spraying might return odd results

Done it a few times, never done side repeaters only done rear lights. So im guessing it should be alright, as it wont be as noticeable as there not side by side when there on the car. i'll give it a go
 
looks reallynice mate good car for your first one jesus mine was a fiesta pop plus an a reg..cream of the crop lol
 
4 speed mate it went like rocking horse s**t!! got 70 out of it once down hill with no windows or doors!! good luck with the modding bud
 
v.nice car m8, wuldnt spend 2 much on the car as i bet as soon as you start your job youll be wanting a new 1!!jus my opinon, oh n i defo prefer the phase 3 lights to phs1+2, but thats prbly cos iv got a phase 3, n im guesin it could be quite costly sawapping the lights n bonnet??id say it wasnt worth it!!but totally up 2 u, like i said v.nice car:D

awesome mate i wish i took some pics of it i remember once it would not start it and me and my mates tried to bump start it at college and i could not do it and went straight into a wall!!! lol

tidy motor dude, but i had a ph3 with ph2 convertion up untill a few weeks ago, as i have no changed it back!

all i can say is that u really should think about it,u say u dont touch the adjuster which is fine, but the ph2 lights will point very low as they will constantly be on the drooped position, i tried for ages to manually adjust em but its very very hard to get them to a good angle let alone pointint straight too, and as i found out its a big mot thing and will likly cause you problems (although like you say, if u can be arsed changing it all back thats fair enuff)

if u do still wanna do it, i have the bits that sit under the old liughtsm nodded so they slot straight in and fit with the ph3 lights if u want em
