Hey guys, so i pick up my first car tonight! its a mk2ph2 1.4 16v priv.

looks quite tidy so far but im dying to get the stupid stickers off!:lolup:

so anyways the last thing i want this car looking is chavvy! so ill start a build thread else where and hopefully you guys will keep me right

Looks tidy, and removing the stickers is the best plan for starters!

cheers for the quick replies guys! yeah the gener plan is this:
-stickers off!
-de-wiper rear
-lower 60mm front 40mm back
-refurb standard wheels in either white or gunmetal grey untill sumer
-colour code bump strips
-pressed plates
- I know its a marmite thing but i like tints on dark cars so ill get those done
- possibly 1*2 bumpers when i get some pennies
-Paint correction depending on how bad it will be!

Yeah! Never seen it before either, i think its just been a boy racer adding more badges on!
i forgot to mention ill be getting the rs grill asap also! I presume its just a straight swap? Or is there fettling to be done?

Yeah not gonna be doing much to it atall! just gonna try and rock the OEM+ look and keep it clean and tidy!

as for insurance I'm gonna see how it looks just on lowering springs, if it doesnt look too drastic i may pleed innocent and say i bought the car like that

couldnt believe the £2k insurance!!

does anyone know of a OEM looking head unit? Would love an aux port, if maybe new clio's or meganes have one as standard in the head unit?

If your insurance is already £2000 I'm guessing this is your first or second car? Give the insurance company a phonecall and enquire about lowering springs...

Lucky lad, my 1st was a 10 yr old fiat cinquecento that handled like a shopping trolley. I crashed it on a dundee roundabout 2 weeks after buying it.. not even sure how i got it movin fast enough to crash tbh

Just went to see the car in the flesh, and i ran a mile! This "perfect little run arround" had a suspected blown head gasket, mayonaise all over the engine, header tank filled with engine oil! Puddles in the footwells from leaky sunroof and the guy wouldnt let me pull it out of the driveway for "insurance purposes"

the guy then proclaimed "im a truck mechanic so i dont know alot about cars"

d**k! Safe to say i ran a mile!

haha what a shitter is that mate! im buying my 1.4 mk2ph2 soon, so keep me posted on how buying goes and what you manage to find to mod her dude! oh, if you can get around the country a bit, look on ebay every few days at 1*2 for breaking regarding the bumpers and grille! i saw one the other day not too far from me with two mint sparco bucket seats in and 5 point harness' and a race steering wheel!!

oh, if you find any decent OZ F1 mk1 172 wheels, TELL ME!!
