First Indoor pics with my D40.

Only got the camera the other week and trying to learn my way through all the various settings!

My first attempts at some indoor shots:

like 2 and 3. Could probs do with a bit of a tighter crop on them to take some distracting areas out of the photo though.

There better than the shot's i took with my 400D...I can't get any of them to look good! :(

Thanks for the comments people, tried a few outdoor shots today and some came out ok, some pretty rubbish! Pik of the lot I guess have to be these:

Nice pics :)

I have the same problem with my new Fuji S5700. I can take stunning supermacro shots but try and take a normal indoor shot and it's shockingly bad.

Here are my supermacro shots:

These are thumbnails, so click to enlarge.

Put it on full auto;)

It's on full auto...The pics are good...Just not mindblowin...But a few of them are brilliant...Just not too sure what i did on those pics...Will have to play about another day and write down the settings.

you can have the best camera in the world but it is the person that takes brilliant pictures, not the camera
+1 ... It's entirely true that. I took 2 shots of a sunset and got it right the second time, trial and error, :approve:

First shot, too light (set it at ISO-200 at F5.6 - 1/500sec)..

Second shot.. (set it at ISO-400 at F5 - 1/400sec)

Depends on how you use the camera and if you want to learn to use it. Anyone can get good results, just play with the camera, whats the worse you can do?? ;)

^^ as above, some of my first shots came out very bad, but this was due to me adjusting settings to see what effect they have!
