First MOT for 53 reg 172

Ok, my car was first registered 28 November 2003.

Never had a car before that's required it's first MOT while I've owned it.

Do I wait for some sort of reminder?

Or,

am I expected to know when the first MOT is due?

How early can I take it in? Is it a month or two weeks? It's just that the warranty will run out on the 28/11/6 and I want to see if it fails on anything before then.

within a month is common practise as they will premark the first MOT to the date its due.

yes its upto you to know, as no reminder is sent (except from the renault garage you may have bought it from for instance)

take it in before the warranty runs out and you should be fine, altho they may have to premark it. not 100% sure on that side of it

I was planning getting the MOT at my local small garage.

It shouldn't really have any faults as it only had it's 36k service a week ago.
