First time you ever driven your Clio

  clio 172 ph2 02 reg

My first time was about a month after passing my exam, I was bricking it. Passed in a Ford KA and found the Clio to feel totally different, on the test test I wasnt even sure how to put it in first!!! on the stick was R on the top left, never used a pull up reverse before. Any way first time out after getting the car I was like bricking it, driving along tram lines in the wet didnt help, ill never forget it, was scary yet good, cant wait to feel if it will be the same with the next car I get.

i remember driving mine for the first time, a couple of weeks after passing my test, had got given it even before i had a license, and it wouldnt pass its MOT just after id passed.

Then got it passed, insured etc, and went out for the first drive, it felt weird, but really good, was proper bricking it, and wasnt used to not driving a car without power steering, will never forget it, nice hot sunny day, cruising along lol.

Then parking the car on the drive i scuffed the paintwork on the rear arch by turning in too early and catching a fence post lol. (thank god for turps, did a fine job in getting the wood treatment off :D)

lol remember first time, went 2 view it, drove near 100 miles 2 c the RSi

couldnt work out how 2 open the bonnet 4 absolutely ages lol, didnt realise it needed 2 b pulled up from near windscreen lol

anyway drove it and hmmm wasnt the best as the brakes didnt work at all and it had a wheel bearing gone, so was a bit of a let down really

now love it 2 pieces and apart from electrical probs at moment, am very happy

Not my Clio but, the first time I drove after passing my test was about 3 months later, I was test driving a Fiesta Zetec and the salesman drove to a slip road, pulled over and said ok then?, I said umm Ive never driven on the motorway before!, he goes oh dont worry

Lol

First time I drove my old RT I just couldnt get on with the clutch. It was so tough compared with the light clutch on my instructors car that I learnt in. Plus it didnt have power steering which was well weird.

On Saturday, when I picked up my 172 it was a fun drive home. The first time I let it run out fully in 2nd and 3rd gear I was like :D:D:D for about 10 minutes after! Its ace! :D

The first Clio I ever drove was identical to the one I bough it was a courtesy car after someone ran into my Escort.

Was very scary had only been driving a short time and it was a brand new car, since I was only young the repair company were worried about insurance as I was on some other policy.

Much better when I got my car to leave the garage you have to jump across a 4 lane road so the engine got a taste of the punishment it was going to get the rest of it life very quick.

Ironic looking back thinking of the problem I had vs my Escort and thinking Ive never get used to them.

More amazing was driving a 182 the acceleration is amazing. You have to love the 4k kick

Made a WRX and Forester turbo feel a bit of a let down. And they arnt slow.

I remember looking down at the computer clock saying 8miles and I thought, hang on a second, THIS CAR IS SUPPOSED TO BE BRAND NEW!!!

I remember the first drive I drove mine, was while learning to drive... and stalled it!!

Compared to the Focus I was learning the car was completely different, clutch, gearbox and the feel of the car... took some time to get used to as I was swapping between the cars each week!

Ahh the first time I drove my Clio...it felt like luxery!
After driving my old L REG Fiesta with no pwer steering it felt class!
Driving position felt kinda high but now im used to it.
Ohh how I love my Clio!

lol wasnt funny, must have looked like a right to$$er, took me ages,

in the end i asked the bloke 2 come out and he showed me quickly, then i put it back down, then he went in and i tried again and i couldnt do it lol

wouldnt come up, as u have 2 lift it from a certain bloody side for it 2 unlatch

First time i drove mine was off the forecourt in a brand new 172,,,no clio before that one and i loved it...was nervous that i would crash on the way home and couldnt stop smiling!

Now its gone and a 182 has replaced or made the smile even bigger!

i went from a 106 1.1 to a 172.... 60bhp to 172 bhp, a little bit of a jump!! absolutely loved it!

i remember wen i picked my car up from the bromsgrove i got in sortayd my position and pulled away 5min drive to the M5 and thought na i aint gona brick it "cough 110 cough" just a tad better than my old 4gear 1 litre fraud festa top speed of 80 and 105 down a verry steep hill. i loved every min off the drive home and i love the car more so now

Picked up my first Clio, and stalled it on the way home from the garage  ... not once but twice! Think I was pretty nervous about driving it because Id been wanting a 172 for a few years now - couldnt stop thinking "I actually own this!"

But had previously driven loads of hire Clios on holidays - I always seem to get Clios, must be because theyre so good.

Passed my test in a 1.2 mk1 phase2 back in april 1999, stepped into my RT in may this year, drove 50miles home in it. Was bliss compared to the 1.0L H reg uno i left at the garage lol :)

a couple of months ago, when my mum first let me have a go in the williams, felt amazing, the clutch pedal was SO stiff, it litrally bounced my foot back off it after changin gear lol. But the handling was amazing, and the seat/posistion was so COMFY!

First clio I drove was a 1.4 rt old shape.I quite liked that. Then I drove the new shape 1.2 & 1.4 which I thought were total crap. Then had a do in my mates valver which i thought was fun. Then I got into my neighbours brand new mk1 172,and simply fell in love;)

  RB 197 + Cup Pack

First clio i drove was i test drove a Cup n then picked up my Cup a few months later. Had to drive it from the dealer in Bradford back to York.....it wasnt 2 bad apart from the brakes were alot better than the ones i was used to in my KA so i kept stoppin well far away from the junctions! Lol

i was sh*tting myself, had to pick up my dynamique and followed my sister home in rush hour traffic, that was also the first time i had driven a car on my own before, much sweatery and brown panting

Picked the valver up from half way down the M1 at the motorway services insured it over the phone and got 139mph on the way home with a seat ibiza cubra sport chasing me for about 3 junctions. Highly iresponsible and gringe when i think about how dangerous it was but deep down i know id do it again because the adrenalin rush is amasing.

Within the first week of ownership of my valver i went round the nurbergring twice and did it in 10mins. Shat my self but it was awsome never forget it.

i hadnt drove a powerfull car for 3 yrs until i had got me 182. i had been drivin transit for about a year. the acceleration wasnt the problem it was the brakes i so so used to pushing on the brakes hard that i forgot i was in a clio desent car and pushed that pedal to the floor dam i nearly went through the windscreen. lucky i had seat belt on lol. hey the worst thing is i still park 3 ft away from curb thinking im going to hit it lol so worried about me alloys lol.

First Clio I drove was ten minutes after passing my test in my parents RT, felt so fast compared to the 309 Diesel I learnt in!

Immediatly after that jumped in my uncles auto saab turbo... A pair of new grundies later and ive driven an awful lot of other cars/vans etc.. to say im only 22..

The willy I drove and the valver I have now have been the most fun ive been in though... Id been in a few other valvers before I looked at this one and it felt sooo different - knew I was gonna buy it then....

  Not a Clio anymore.....

First time I drove my Clio was around Belfast taking for a wee test drive with a girl 6 months preggers in the front so had to take it easy!!

Then drove it onto a big boat very carefully praying that it would clear the ramp with no probs, then over to Stranraer and fired up to Glasgow straight away, absolutely fantastic!!!!

I was actually quite dissapointed - expected it to have some immediate massive difference over my last 2 cars (Fiesta RS Turbo (tuned)/RS1800) but it wasnt really much different on the A roads and Motorways home. It was faster than I thought it would be but more flimsy too. Its on the back roads its a monster and it still amazes me after 11/2 years - on the A roads it could be any other car - in fact both Fiestas handled highspeed bends better than the Williams can. It feels floaty and gets a bit detached, something 172 owners seem to suffer from too. Much be the French suspension set-up.

First drove it at a test drive at the car dealer it was for sale at... Dealer drove first,as Id never driven a car faster than a 1.4 Orion before lol. I drove it back to the dealer, and although I didnt put my foot down properly couldnt believe the speed lol.

First booted it on way back from picking it up, and OMG it scared me lol :D

I learnt to drive in my Clio, didnt do my test in it, did my test in an Almera. Remember th first time i drove it properly, my bf was in the back, i was going bright red with embarrassment then i stalled  oops
