First Track Car- Clio 172 Phase 1 project

Ok so been meaning to do this for a while. Me and a few mates decided we wanted a track car after looking through a few different options and we settled on a phase 1 clio 172. This is the car when advertised

The car is a very good example it's almost a shame we had to strip all out.

About time this got started Gibby

So what are the plans? How hardcore are you going?

Current mods going on are fully stripped out ,bucket seats, strut braces, making some brake ducts, uprated discs and pads, semi slick tyres,future plans will be full cage, adjustable suspension, 182 manifold down to fully decatted exhaust system,cams and a remap

Fast work so far. I have a similar PH1 project at the moment which I have been working on since the start of the year. Must be alot easier and cheaper when you are doing it with your mates!

Work near Gatwick live in Caterham Surrey . I have a mad mk2 escort but needed a track car thats noat as valuable . Few good friends got them so joined the club .

Good stuff mate we will be goin to cliosport Saturday if ur going to be there, however ain't got a trailer for the clio yet so will the project can't come down will just be going in mates astra

so decided to remove the foglights, carbon canister and move the horns so we can put in some brake ducts later

Also got these cheap will be giving them a refurb before putting them on

ah pity, our lil toy wont be there either as we haven't got a trailer yet but hopefully get some ideas when we are down there

Bumper back on, We went for some holes to help keep temps down on track will also be looking to go through the bar to get it right onto the radiator, will also be making them slightly larger when i can find my cutters

Decided to cut out the bootlid innards and will do doors rear quarters etc when a cage goes in
