firstly hi! but need help badly :(

in college we have a 172 cup 53 reg clio... taking it to our first race event the tool we bought it off put to much silicone on the sump and it suffered oil starvation.. engine re built and head changed and what not using what little bolts that could be salvaged due to the people who stripped it down leaving we had no idea where anything was.. but we did it! it runs! a little...sounds roouugghhh! and 2 spark plugs 1&4 seem to just build up carbon.(new plugs) and the engine will not idle just chokes and dies. we have been over the timming about 6 times due to the tool in charge of the key forgetting there was an immobiliser. so that cant be an issue. so im asking for help really as of any ideas into which people can give me a hand in how to get it running smooth again? as if I fix it I then become the team racing driver this year ;) I need help pleeaassee!!!!

If it runs, but runs rough have you checked on the Coil Pack as these are a known weak point, also check on the leads, are they in the correct order?

PS: welcome to the forum.

You may get lucky if there is a member local who can pop round and lend you one, it's a 5 min job to swap over and back.

Check.

Unless it's the NGK PRF10s (search and make sure - it's been a while since i've had a surrender-mobile  ) they run like sh*t. If it's Bosch or anything else, change them to the right ones.
