fitted 60mm kit to 16v

all my suspensuion is on now, a full apex 60mm kit

the rear has been ajusted to the point of no movement and the front is low but i was after more, i might go coilovers in the end as i wanted all the tyre in the front arch but theres about 1cm till it cannot be seen!

what im asking how low do new suspension kits take to settle etc, bearing in mind the car just sits, in a lock up gets worked on now and then, will they not settle till it gets driven? and how much roughtly if anything!?

oh the car is on 17s 2!

and i do need them new top mount and nuts to fit before it can drive anywhere

lol well actually lads dont slate me but i got a little handy with the grinder b4 and cut the bottom of spring so it would be low, it hasnt settle yet and i wont be driving it for months but theres about 1cm of tyre you can still see

iv got no pics but will take some 2nite



tom tom, i had to use a grinder, cutting disc right down the center, to split it as the windy guin wouldnt budge it

it was rusted on to f**k!

That looks too low on the front!

Does that front wheel actually go on full lock?

Did u have to GUT out all the arches and some of the front bumper?

i drove it round for a few days with the 17s on usually i have 16" speedline chronos on

it wasnt a nice drive didnt exactly handle well, u could get almost full lock if you went ded slow an didnt hit a big bump

wasnt as quick either but looked absolutely mint

as mines a bit lower at the back

how much driving does it tke for springs to settle a little or does it happen over time

what coilovers are u running mate?

avo coilovers mate, springs settle in a couple of days prob drop a few mill

i had to remove the rims they belonged to my g/f they were goin on her golf lol

actually reckon mines lowered about 55 rear 70 ish front its defo lower than 60 at front as ive compared to another valver lowered 60 at front

valvers need the slightly more dropped front for handling

i know they need to sit lower at the front but im looking for a level set up at the max as iv got about 1cm of alloy up the rear arch!

how much were the coilovers and whats there max adjustment is it 100mm?

lol u lower than 60mm at the rear then

my coilovers got loads of adjustment on em yet, at the height that i got mine now i reckon urs wud prob be about level on 17s if u had front same height as mine

thats if ur rear arch is lower than the rim cos mine levels out with sum1 in the back an the arch is down to the alloy then

u need to spk to brun bout the coilovers he mite be able get you a good deal they usually bout 400

400 sounds cool but i had my heart set on spunking 400 on bbs 300mm disc job

i suppose mine should settle to 70mm just need to drive it and go for them later

yeh iv got about 1,5 cms off alloys stuck up in the rear arch, i think its around the 80mm mark it is low, id like the front at 75 or at least covering all the tyre!

How much did u alter the insides of the front arches to fit ur 17"s Dean?

nothing yet mate but doing it today

what im doing is removing all liners cutting them in half, and refitting missing the bit up the top of the arch so the tyre as its in the arch doesnt touch it, and cutting the lip away also removing it bit of where it fixes to the front of the chassis
