The guide I followed is on here, search for strut top washer and it should come up.
All I did was use a 20mm socket (like what you'd use for spark plugs) to loosen the bolt that sits on top of the rubber lugs that sit on the strut tops.
Lift these off and pop the washer underneath. This raises the rubber lug off the bodywork of the car slightly and stops the rubbing (and therefore annoying squeeking!)
