Fitting a splitter!?

Just yanked my old standard one off, i have been told to just screw the new one on but i cant get the screws through the underneath of the bumper Probably because i am not strong enough

Just want to check that other people just screwed theirs on?

Mines fixed with self-tappers.

I started the holes with a small drill bit and used self tappers when I fitted one to my 172.

If i was looking at loads of different types of screws how would i know if they are self tapping ones?

They have a thick thread and a sharp point. Not much else to say really. lol

Got the splitter off Pasty so didnt come with anything, although it has holes in it already But my bumper has like a place where the old one sat whereas sports are just flush aren't they?

Don't know if there is a screwfix got B&Q etc

You could probably start the hole off with a bradle.

Drill some small holes (pilot holes) then go bigger, it probs best to tape the thing on to the car or get a mate to help as going it alone will be hard.

Think thats where i am going wrong i don't have enough hands to hold everything

That's how I did it. I mate held it steady too. Use a very small drill bit.

And I put back to black stuff on it so masking tape wont stick GRR

Whoop sort of managing to drill it but only on a diagonal as the car is too friggin low but managed to get some screws into it

Jack the car up and do it properly

If you can't jack it up, drive it onto some planks of wood (if you have some)
