Fitting component speakers

  182 Trophy
I'm just curious what people usually do.

Would you splice in to the existing speaker cables behind the headunit somewhere to run to the amp, or would you make an attempt to run new cables in to the doors? Where would you usually place the crossover and tweeters?

Second question, has anyone found a more discrete location for an amp other than in the boot?

Me and my mate decided to cut the wires behind the head unit as it was easier than wiring it through to the door. My amp is in the boot and we just ran cables from behind the head unit to the amp. The cross over boxes... one is stuck with velcro up on the right hand side of the glove box and the other is placed in the centre bit behind the plastic to the left of the pedals. Mine fitted just about under there. Hope that helps.
