Fitting Eibach Sportlines+Rear Torsion Bar...

  01 Renaultsport Clio 172
Right guys,

Basically i went to a french specialist garage today to see about getting my eibach sportlines fitting.

After reading this guide which seems the way most people have fitted them i assumed it would be about a 2hr job.

http://fubarnet.com/fitting_springs.html

According to the manager at this garage, the rear torsion bar settings must be changed in order to accomodate the lowering spring. Now this being an awkward job means around 5 hours labour!!!! costly.

Can anyone shed some light on this as i dont really want the settings changed if they dont need it, but if they do then i think we may have some issues here!

Cheers
Sam

but surely if you are putting in a shorter spring then something needs to adjust to accomodate it???

yeah, the shocks get compressed more with shorter springs.

don't doubt my guide... get yer spanner out and fit the springs yourself :D

I was away to say that mate :)

f**k paying a garage to do it when its such a simple job providing you have the space and tools to do it :)

The only thing you'll have to do after fitting is get the Wheel Alignment done.

Go on give it a bash.....

I dont have
A) the time
B) the facilities
C) the daylight

I am more than capable, but my job and where i live at uni dont allow. And i need it done asap as the car's handling is going on dangerous with the 17" wheels at that height.

Dangerous on 17s on standard suspension lol! As said no torsion bar, takes about 2 hours to do if you've never done it before, much less if you have.
