Fitting H&R's to a 182....

Right, just checking that there will be no nasty surprises when fitting H&R's?

Fitted a set of FK's to my mates 172 before, and I have done suspension on various Clio's, but just want to make sure there is nothing extra to look out for or needs doing when fitting these?

^ You got some coils?!

I'll give you a hand fitting them mate no problems, pm me.

They'll be the same to fit as comparable coilovers so you'll be swapping everything from the upper spring "hat" over from the OE strut to the coilovers. Only thing to watch out for is the set up of the rear platforms for the spring. They can be a right b*****d to get the lower half through the hole in the trailing arm. Other than that it should be plain sailing if you've fitted a set before.

Thanks mate.

How do you mean fitting the lower half through the hole? Lost me a bit there :S

Paul, no worries, it's easy as pie!

It's one of those jobs that you struggle with the first ime, then after that you can do it with your eyes closed!

The platform has 3 parts. You have a lower part which fits under the trailing arm through the hole where the lower spring pad sits and has an externally threaded part that you then screw the upper half to from the top side of the trailing arm. The final part which is the actual platform that the spring sits on then screws down through the centre of these two parts. It'll make sense when you look at the kit.

I know what you mean about the rear set-up. Was just confused as to why it would be a b*****d, should just slot stright in shouldn't it?

Some can be a tight fit, too much paint on the trailing arm or corrosion on it could cause it to foul. I've fitted/removed a few now and sometimes they go straight through others you have a real fight on your hands.

Ah right I see.
Thanks for the help. I was 99% sure they would be exactly the same but the bloke will br travelling a bit of distance so thought it would be best to double check.

Just make sure you have the correct set for a cup'd 182 as the fronts wont fit if they're for a non-cup'd one!
