If youve got the money then replace any parts you can, actually, if youve got a new magnex de-cat as well it should come with all new gaskets.
new Reno rubbers will help, youll need two.
Sealant will reduce the risk of it blowing slightly as mine does.
See now, Ive taken mine off several times and where the magnex bit joins onto the cat, I dont have any sort of gasket at all! Its just metal on metal. I wonder if Elite forgot to put it back on for me?!
Youll need some paste for the centre section / backbox join. The two dont meet up all that well.
all done and dusted The 2 bolts holding the CAT to the manifold were welded to the plate under the heat of the manifold! So took it to RapidFit they charged me £20 and it only took them 25 mins.
Sounds the tits now and goes much better with the de-cat in place! Throttle response is much better too! Just need a forced air IK now, PBV and chip! then it will be va va voooommm!
