Fitting new renault rear bushes

I'm doing a rear beam refurb and have new renault bushes to fit.

The new ones have a different bolt hole diameter to the originals, or rather for part way through.

Hopefully the photos will explain what I mean with the new bush on the left.

Do these new bushes just fit straight in does anyone know?

The OE bushes are a real pain in the RS... if I did it again, I’d be fitting polybush jobbies.

But what you need to do mate, is get in touch with a chap on eBay called darren69darren9 and ask him to manufacture a pair of bushes like he made for me in April 2020..

he should be able to track the drawing down from this photo:

I've just had a look at your 182 restoration post - very nice work!

I derusted and painted up my rear beam. I'm very pleased with it but it did take an age and I think your powder coated does look better. So next time it will be powder coating and poly bushes!

Yes I did measure them plus got old ones which shows unrusted band where they sat in beam. And I bought some device off ebay for pressing them back in....

I did some reading on polybushes last night and it appears that some differ from the OEM in that the inner sleeve can rotate within the bush rather than it being bonded.

In posts on various forums I read, some people indicated a rotating sleeve could get dirt in it and wear, and that the bonded sleeve effectively added to the spring rating by resisting rotation.

I think all of them go this route as it helps the bush to be fitted by hand rather than press in. Its also cheaper which will be the primary consideration :D
