Fitting Recaro Problems

My Recaro seats finally arrived and went about fitting them following this guide http://www.cliomods.com/styling/fittingrecaros/

I have come across a problem though and wondering if I have been supplied the wrong parts or if I am doing somethign wrong.

The problem is with the positioning of the slide handle for moving the seat back and forward. The current Renault handle used on the standard seats fits fine but unfortunately it fouls the base cushion as said in the guide so would not be able to be pulled up. If
you see pictures below it should be more clear.
