Fitting Recaros

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
I know which one this is.

I didnt have to remove mine at all. The wiring is removable without cutting or breaking anything. I GUESS its to do with how it was put in place at factory.

Looks like in the guide they have run it thru the seat making it impossible to remove again. Mine was a bit fiddly but managed to get the wiring back out.

I think the only way you will know on yours is by removing the seat and trying it yourself. Take up the leather a bit by unclipping it from the back and you should have more access.

The switch is to alter the airbag for shorter drivers. I drilled the switch out, it's nigh on impossible to rivet back in. Used superglue.

He's talking about the microswitch riveted to the the subframe, that's attached to the cables.

I was only kidding. Its not a really bodge job if theres no binder cord involved. I keep expecting the airbag light to come on and announce my electrical wiring failure.
