Flamer 172 - her name is ruby ;)

  Clio 172 Flamer
Hi all,

Thought I would start up a little thread with any changes I make to my clio, I had a MK4 Golf GTI before this and am really pleased I made the switch as I have found the clio to be very fun so far.

Seemed when I bought it to be in good shape as the previous owner was a retired guy who didn't cover many miles, there were 86k on the clock when bought, waterpump etc done in 2012. Interior is in good shape as it the exterior. No modifications done to it before I bought which I liked as I can make it my own.

I had never really bothered with taking care of my cars before this one and decided this one would be different :D

photo (9).jpgThis is how she looked when I got her last month. Only picture I really have from the start.

So, figured she needed a bit of TLC and took a trip to Halfords to pick up a few bits..

Obviously didn't get the tax or CS tax holder from Halfords ;)

Then I gave her a good clean on a saturday afternoon, ready for her first 'photo shoot'

A few from the Sunday shoot

And one of the interior: 20140601_182714000_iOS_zps4ed6befa.jpg

Not a massive fan of the original wheels, so took them off as winter wheels and purchased some Turinis.

Unfortunately, the only picture I have right now is through a window... sorry about that.

Sitting like a 4x4 in my eyes, so ordered a few bits for the suspension, hopefully this will sort out the squeak from the front left also.

A few treats to play with - 20140617_091744262_iOS_zps682b1cfd.jpg

So, there you have cooksport shocks, uprated all round bushes to powerflex, maybe a slightly harsher ride on the B roads but I read a fair bit into them and I will notice the difference apparently (to be confirmed), new track rods and ends, CV joints, wishbones and some pure-motorsport top mounts.

Getting some cup shocks next week and then it will be time to fit them.

In the pipeline is a brake upgrade, a steering wheel refurb, front and rear arb (maybe, I am awaiting new stock from pure-motorsport), wheel spacers.

From then, I am not sure.

Opinions welcome :)

Dan.
