Flashing brake lights like a vxr

  Clio Sport 172
hey... the other night i was having a bit of a play with my mate in his vxr... when he was hard on the brakes his brake lights flashed for a good 10 seconds.... might not sound like much but if you've seen this you will know it looks cool as hell. My question is..... How can i make this happen on my 172 is there some kind of soinoid or actuatior that can be fitted?

The 5-0 will love this lol infact the CS police will soon be on the case! Dont mention xenon washers! :dapprove: On a more serious note, sounds like a fault on your mates car.

it's the "emergency braking" warning.

made to alert people following that they need to take ewasive action or go for the anchors, because, of course, drivers are incapable of judging that the distance between them and the car in front is narrowing at an alarming rate.

If you somehow linked the hazard warning light switch to the brakes or ABS, you'd be there

Its not a fault, they flash under heavy braking to attract more attention to it so the person behind has more of a chance not to rear end them

Luckily you don't have bid wheels on your car. That would be terrible.

Can't remember the model (possibly GT3RS) but there is a Porsche that does this too.

Yes, thanks, I've figured that out.

The reason they do, is that you are braking far harder than the other 99.99% times you press the middle pedal. It alerts drivers to a different situation before they get there and ram their own car up the backside of the vehicle that has (probably) stopped in an emergency, and isn't an idiot driving like a loon on the public road.

If every time you braked, the lights flashed, suggesting to other motorists some kind of abnormal warning, what would OEMs do to go one step up ? Pop a sign out the boot !?

hmmmm good one why comment on this thread... its someting i thought looked good if you have a problem with that then i dont really want to know.

and fyi i dont want them to flash all the time that would be stupid, just when i brake hard so basically what a vxr and numerous other cars do as standard...
