Flat spot on 197 rev range

  White clique
Hi people,

i have a 197 57 plate with 3k on t' clock, however i notice that there are flat spots in the rev range (cold and warm engine)...

1st and 2nd gear, quite low down at about 2000rpm
3rd and 4th around 3000 - 3250 rpm
6th doesnt really pack any punch between 3000-4000rpm

when i say flat spot, i mean that if i keep my foot at the same level on the pedal, there is good pulling power, then a dip in performance and then it kicks back in again (well before the 5500 rpm VVT thingy)

is this the same as others, is it a characteristinc of the gearing, is it because the engine is still new, or does it sound faulty??

I think this might be the charactaristics of the car although I remap will make it more linear. Mines done 5k and I'm just getting used to the gearbox and how to get the best out of the car.

I know there's a nasty spot below 2,500 in 2nd, the rest I'm not sure about yet.
