Flow control valve to heater matrix when fitting lightweight heater

No one any ideas if it's safe to fit a valve running to the heater matrix?

Would need to look at the water circuit diagram to be 100% but I don't think you'll be able to as the heater matrix is the only return to the pump before the thermostat opens. This is iirc.

That's what I feared. I guess I could create a loop before the matrix with a valve afterwards?

There is a balance pipe in the joiner between the 2 heater matrix pipes, but it's pretty small

So could I replace this with a larger pipe Dan or even fit a valve that directs through the matrix and closes the balance pipe or closes the matrix and opens that balance pipe?
