Flywheel

I have just gone to change the belt on a new engine I acquired but there is no timing marking on the flywheel, is this a billet/lightweight flywheel? Its smooth on the inside and has lots of circular cut outs which is different to my existing flywheel, or is it just a 182 flywheel as mine is is a 172? Thought the 172 and 182 engines were the same. So would this make the car idle just below 1000 and be a little lumpy? It also takes a decade for the revs to drop down after revving and a touch of black smoke.
