Fool proof way of stopping expanding boost hoses!!

This was what we found at work the other day, the Mk5 Golf TDi had been into a 'tuning company' who fitted this mod, telling the owner it would give better performance by stopping the boost hose expanding

Thats right, a rolled up piece of metal, with 2 dubilee clips on the outside holding them still :S


Even more interesting, there was 2 nuts tacked onto the inside for some reason, imagine if they happened to come loose.......

LOL! boost hose expansion wont make a blind bit of difference to boost unless you are running big boost! if it bothers you, you run fully alloy pipes with alloy billet clamps that join it all together and have nothing expandable in the way...

It's actually a common problem on VAG cars to have TIPs that expand and degrade over time.

One of the legends over on Audi sport has actually fab'd a metal 3" TIP - that is a piece of art.

That on the other hand is just hilariarse.
