For a moment, I thought I was Schweppy...

Took the car out at lunchtime today, I drove to the sandwich shop; a short, 10 minute drive.

The car's electrics cut out suddenly on the main road, whilst driving. The dash re-booted, the radio died etc etc. STOP. SERV. ABS. TC. AGGGHHH(?)

So yeah, I pulled over, swore at it and re-started it. This time it lasted another one-hundered feet before it did the same again. Doubleyew-tee-eff?! :dapprove: I was just about to call Schwep, so he could laugh... then decided to have a quick gander under the bonnet. Wise enough.

I opened the bonnet and immediately, something didn't look right. The fuel-rail (which I had removed the night before, to polish it ) was completely loose from it's fixings, and sat on the pipework at the front of the bay... right next to the alternator. You can guess now... it was shorting it out.

Big relief TBH. French electrical faults FTL.

Glad it was just my incompetence.

Good job you keep that ladder in the boot, would of been impossible to spot otherwise.

Dissapointed - was expecting stripes. :(

Glad the RB hasn't died though, is it still running ok ?

renault aren't at the heights of some other manufacturer's with their setup.

tall order in this day and age that would leave anyone racingblue in the face

glad you got it shorted

Lucky you weren't short of tools or I can imagine fixing it at the roadside would have been a tall order.
